My kids are advent calendar enthralled. We do a big family Christmas Countdown Calendar, chocolate advent calendars, and have a darling Very Beary Christmas calendar from when I was a kid.
In fact, my kids are so into advent calendars that during the post holiday sales last year I bought an adorable Nutcracker paper calendar, a fun wooden train calendar, and this super cute hair accessory calendar.
I definitely went a bit overboard! But in light of the pandemic, I’m grateful for a few extra daily moments when I know the kids will be excited and happy.
Tea Advent Calendar
Now when it comes to adults, I’ve seen wine advent calendars and beer advent calendars. But I just found out about this amazing new trend… the Tea Advent Calendar!
If you’re a tea lover like me, or know someone who is, here are the best Tea Advent Calendars for 2020.
DIY Tea Calendar
I decided to create a couple of 12 day tea advent calendars using cardboard as a base. I cut up recycled paper bags and some of the kids’ artwork (I had approval and it was items from our pile to use for cards, scraps, and other fun stuff).
First, I measured the little tea pockets and then hot glued the sides and bottom of each one.
Then we drew and cut out a few shapes and letters from our recycled artwork.
Next, I finished the calendars with yarn/paper bag handles.
My son helped write numbers on one of the calendars too. And the kids had fun helping put different flavors of tea in the pockets.
I probably would have continued decorating with acrylic paint markers and glitter, but my son was insistent that the minimalist design looked better.
Pukka Herbs Tea Calendar
If DIY isn’t in the cards for you this year (or ever), this Pukka Herbs Tea Calendar looks awesome!
My sister introduced me to Pukka and they are a wonderful company. Their teas are organic and incredibly delicious (one of my favorites is the Three Mint). And they are a company dedicated to sustainability. You can read more about their mission and philosophy here.
Sips by
For something totally unique and reusable check out this beautiful Holiday Tea Advent Calendar from Sips by.
For my birthday this year I received a monthly gift membership to Sips by and it has been so fun to get a monthly box of curated teas. A subscription would also make a great holiday gift for your favorite tea lover!
Where to Buy Tea
I also buy a lot of my tea at Thrive Market because their pricing is so good and they have two of my all time favorites, Numi Rooibos Tea and Numi Rooibos Chai.
In case you don’t know about Thrive Market, it’s a wonderful online grocery store chock full of healthy and allergy friendly foods, cleaning supplies, health and beauty, and more. Their boxes are sturdy and great for recycled projects too!
Happy Sipping
However you countdown the days until Christmas, Winter Solstice, Kwanza, or whatever you celebrate, I raise my tea mug to you!
